Steven Ramaekers, CR and his wife Christine Ramaekers, CKD, founded MainStreet in 1991. With their extensive backgrounds in residential design, remodeling and construction management, they felt the metro-Detroit area was ready for a new kind of company that would manage all elements of the design and build process. "We envisioned a quality-focused firm that provides the client with just one company to work with from start to finish", said Christine Ramaekers, Vice-President of MainStreet.

With over 16 years of experience, MainStreet Design Build has completed hundreds of projects - including additions, kitchens and bathrooms, to whole house remodels, historic renovations and new home builds. "We really start with client's vision of their project. We understand this is an investment both financially and emotionally. We then work to create a design that blends well with the home's existing architecture", says Steve Ramaekers, President of MainStreet. "Managing both sides of the design/build process allows us to provide our clients with a higher level of service and overall satisfaction", adds Steve.

MainStreet has been the recipient of several awards over the years including REMODELING Inc.'s Big 50 designation, the National Association of the Remodeling Industry's (NARI) Regional Contractor of the Year (CotY) Award and has had their work displayed in several local and national magazines.

The MainStreet Design Build team operates out of their showroom located in Birmingham, MI. With an in-house design team, staff of carpenters and a deep-bench of skilled tradesmen, their goal is to offer residential clients innovative solutions and the best of both worlds in design and project construction. "Many of our clients use us for second and even third jobs. They also recommend us to their friends and family", says Christine Ramaekers.
